1st Grade Matthew Rivera
May’s student of the month is a child who has been patiently waiting for this moment. I know his classmates as well as myself are excited to have him as May’s student of the month. All year long, this child has worked diligently and enthusiastically on all his assignments. His love and enthusiasm for learning are some of the traits that make him so special. Throughout the school year I have watched him grow and improve his grades step by step. Not only has he improved his grades but he as also grown spiritually as he cares for everyone around him. His classmates love him for his big heart and kind ways. It has truly been a pleasure to teach him this school year. As he moves on to 2nd grade, I wish him all the best of luck in his new school. May the Virgin Mary continue to guide and bless him. Congratulations! To May’s Student of the Month for first grade, Matthew Rivera.
2nd Grade Derrel Ramos
They say April showers bring May flowers. Flowers, start as a tiny seed, which then sprouts and grows gradually over time. That's exactly what took place with this student. He started of the year as the tiny seed, always doing what was asked and he always tried to keep up with the rest of the class. I watched him over the course of the year grow and flourish. He always pushed his way to the top taking on what ever weed would get in the way. He kept growing and pushing growing and pushing. He did what ever he had to do to "survive." I watch this young boy bloom into a beautiful flower. He has grown not only physically but socially and academically. That is why May's student of the month is Derrel Ramos.
3rd Grade Elliott Trujillo
May’s SOM takes a Journey to Success:
Let’s keep on
Improving so much.
O M G!
Took the time
To get it right!
Congratulations and keep up the good work, Elliott Trujillo!
4th Grade Alberto Ramos
As the school year comes to a close, there is one student who has grown so much as a student and as a person. He has taken the time to learn and grow with his classmates, he has taken the time to get to know a new classmate and help him adjust to the Holy Name Family. He has taken the time to remind himself and his classmates that the year is not over and there is still work to be done. This gentleman has taken the time to be the best he can, each and every day. Congratulations and keep up the amazing work, wherever the road takes you, Alberto Ramos, Student of the Month.
5th Grade Michael Suarez
This student has come a long way from being very active and attention seeking boy, who gave many excuses and little cooperation. Well what an improvement you have accomplished! This young man has done 360 degrees turnaround. He is a talented artist with a vivacious personality. Now he’s determined to succeed at his academics, while managing his sense of competition and humor. He just experienced another level in his spiritual life by making a stronger commitment with Jesus through Holy Communion. Not to mention he is a terrific basketball player!! The fifth grade is proud to acknowledge Michael Suarez as May’s Student of the Month
6th Grade Nailah Gabriel
"Character contributes to beauty. It fortifies a woman as her youth fades. A mode of conduct, a standard of courage, discipline, fortitude, and integrity can do a great deal to make a woman beautiful." JAQUELINE BISSET
May you be introduced to a young lady that is courageous in so many ways.
May she one day tell you about her fabulous integrity and glowing spirit (she loves to talk).
May she one day bring you into her world of beautiful things.
May her name be embedded in your mind as a young lady to remember for reasons of grandeur and goodness.
May she continue on the path of academic achievement and prove to the world that because of her discipline, she is able to be successful.
Young lady, may you remember to be all things wonderful and know that who you are today is someone amazing. Don't ever forget that.
Good job and always remember to remain humble Nailah Gabriel.
7th Grade Jordy Gonzalez
This young man may not be an ‘A’ student but he has made great improvements academically and behaviorally. He is polite, friendly and he goes about his way with a good sense of humor. He tries very hard to do his best. This student comes to school with a warm smile; every day is a new day. When he gets caught up in conversation, he looks my way and freezes. Stares and says, “I’m not talking”. Immediately he stops and goes back to work. I cannot recall any time this child was disrespectful. He has many good qualities but the one that stands out the most is his value of knowing right from wrong. I pray he continues to excel. Congratulations! 7th grade May’s SOM is Jordy Gonzalez.
8th Grade Marielle Mouflet
The year is winding down and many things are ending. As I reflect on this class and the three years I have known them, I remember various details. This one student has changed very little in appearance. Even though, she’s an 8th grader and most 8th graders feel grown up. The only word that can describe her physically is adorable. She’s petite with a tiny, high-pitched voice. However, do not be fooled by her appearance. She is a strong, independent and very determined young lady. She’s a quiet storm that will one day take the world by storm. I have always believed that there is something in our names hence my theme for SOMS these past two years. Her name means ‘star of the sea,’ and metaphorically in this big ocean called Holy Name, she is definitely one of its stars! Congratulations to 8th grade’s May Student of the Month, MARIELLE MOUFLET!!!
